POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME
MSc Education
Offered in collaboration with the University of Technology, Jamaica, this one-year postgraduate programme spans four semesters and is delivered through a blended learning modality.
The MSc Education is the flagship taught postgraduate degree of G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport and one of its most popular programmes. It provides an excellent foundation for careers in educational policy, research, professional practice, and doctoral-level study.
Programme Description
Through strategically-designed compulsory courses and a wide range of options, paired with guidance from our staff and in a lively and supportive student community, you will take part in social and philosophical reflection on the nature, value and purposes of education.
Essential skills that are emphasized in the programme include how to develop curricula using contemporary exercise and physiology knowledge, how to structure classes according to student fitness levels, sportsmanship, nutrition, and sports knowledge. The programme also incorporates training in exercise science, body mechanics, and first aid. Coursework in this programme combines pedagogical training with classes about the body, exercise, and nutrition.

Entry Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in physical education or kinesiology or their equivalent, with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 from a recognized accredited institution. Applicants who do not hold a degree in physical education or kinesiology may be required to successfully complete certain undergraduate prerequisite courses prior to admission.

Programme Experience
Students develop advanced competencies in curriculum development, exercise physiology, sports science, nutrition, leadership, and modern teaching methodologies.
Includes training in Exercise Science , body mechanics, and first aid.
