G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport offers an Associate Degree in Sports Massage Therapy, a programme focused on muscles and injuries specific to sporting activities. Students learn to maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout an individual’s life span.
The programme is completed over two years, including summer sessions, and requires on-campus attendance. Students gain specialized knowledge and practical skills in sports massage therapy, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and wellness management.
Programme Description The Associate Degree in Sports Massage Therapy combines theoretical knowledge with extensive practical experience. Students develop competencies in assessing and treating injuries using massage therapy techniques while learning the principles of health, wellness, and rehabilitation.
Through in-class practical sessions, practicum placements, and opportunities to work with internal and external sporting teams, students gain hands-on experience that prepares them for professional practice.
The programme focuses on helping individuals maintain and restore movement and functional ability while preparing graduates for careers within the sports, wellness, and healthcare industries.

Admission Requirements
Five (5) CSEC / GCE O’Level subjects inclusive of English Language.
Applicants must possess at least one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physical Education, or a Biological Science subject.
Mature Entry applicants may qualify through training approved by a relevant professional body.
Applicants with a minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in a related field may also be considered.
Programme Experience
Students develop competencies in sports massage therapy, injury assessment, rehabilitation techniques, movement analysis, wellness promotion, and professional client care through practical training and real-world sporting experiences.
Graduates are prepared for careers as Massage Therapists, Sports Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Medical Assistants, and Health & Wellness Professionals.
