JOB SUMMARY.
The Computer Technician will be responsible for ensuring that a safe, effective, and efficient laboratory
technical service is provided for use by students and academic staff. He/she will provide technical advice
and multimedia assistance in the classroom to support students and to assist teaching staff with the
provisioning of learning activities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES.
• Ability to operate a range of ICT equipment and resources
• Initiative and ability to prioritize one’s own work and make informed decisions
• Ability to follow directions and work in collaboration with line manager
• Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to unplanned situations
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and other professionals
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
• Three (3) years working experience working in a relevant discipline or within a similar
environment.
• Sound knowledge of computer programming and graphic design software
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot existing websites or add design elements
• Ability to use DSLR camera to capture pictures at events
