G.C. Foster College Adds 8 Olympians to the Team to Toyko

At the recently concluded JAAA National Trials, held June 24 – 27, 2021, a total of eight (8) athletes from both the G.C. Foster College Track and Field Team and the College-based track club, Sprintec, were successful in qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan.

This Summer Olympic Games will be an unprecedented one – not only because of the on-going novel COVID-19 pandemic which  reshaped the sporting and social landscape worldwide, but also the contribution of this flagship team from our premier institution, G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport.

Mr. Maurice Wilson, the College’s Principal and Head Coach, as well as the nation’s Technical Leader to the Olympic Games,  is very optimistic about the current composition of the team that was selected.

The contingent from G.C. Foster College/Sprintec Track Club comprises:

Remona Burchell (4x100m)
Rasheed Dwyer (200m)
Demish Gaye (4x400m)
Tovea Jenkins (4x400m)
Yanique Thompson (100m Hurdles)
Ronda Whyte (400m Hurdles)
Dennick Luke (800m)
Brendon Rodney (200m, 4x100m)

The G.C. Foster College family feels extremely proud of this milestone, and congratulates these representatives and wishes for them the very best during the championship.
