Bachelor of Education (Physical Education)
G.C. Foster College offers a Bachelor of Education degree designed to prepare Physical Education specialists for the teaching profession. The programme is delivered through a blended learning modality, combining face-to-face and online learning to provide flexibility while maintaining academic excellence.
The Bachelor of Education programme prepares graduates to teach at the secondary level of the Jamaican education system. Full-time students complete the programme in four years (eight semesters), while part-time students complete it in five years (ten semesters).
Programme Description
Students are equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required to effectively educate adolescents and young adults. The programme emphasizes curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, critical thinking, and student-centered learning approaches.
Through a combination of theoretical coursework and supervised practicum experiences from Years 2–4, students develop the confidence and expertise needed to become effective Physical Education professionals and educators.
Coursework includes studies in Education, Language Arts, Personal Development, Physical Education, Information Technology, and extensive teaching practice.

Entry Requirements
G.C. Foster College Two-Year Diploma.
Five (5) CXC subjects inclusive of English Language.
Applicants must possess at least one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physical Education, or a Biological Science subject.
Meet all admission requirements established by G.C. Foster College.
Programme Experience
Students develop competencies in curriculum planning, teaching methodologies, educational leadership, classroom management, assessment strategies, and Physical Education instruction through blended learning and supervised practicum experiences.
Graduates are prepared for careers as Teachers, Physical Education Specialists, Sports Coaches, and Athletic Directors.
